Launch of Australian National Design Archive website 16.08.2005 Confucius is claimed to have said that 'a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step' and so begins this ambitious project. On August 16, 2005, the first public step was taken with the launch of this website. In the coming years this modest site will grow into five archives and a host of ancillary resources. The archives are ... 1 Exhibitions | a repository of design exhibitions and collections mirroring physical collections or operated as virtual exhibitions of material representing design in Australia. 2 Research | an aggregation of design research, commentary, history and design discussion. 3 Education | a collection of student work, final year exhibitions and the best from Australia's leading design schools. 4 Industry | design collected and managed by Australia's peak design bodies AGDA, DIA and AIMIA, including past award winners. 5 Pinnacle | design that has made a significant contribution to the culture and history of Australia. To be selected by a yet to be appointed panel of experts. > more Archive platform in stage one development 12.12.2006 During 2006, the Foundation Council created a road map and specification for the development of the underlying archive tool.
